Offshore Grand Prix Returns to
Point Pleasant Beach

After postponing the 2020 Point Pleasant Beach Offshore Grand Prix we are happy to announce that the 2021 Point Pleasant Beach Offshore Grand Prix is scheduled for June 11, 12, 13/ 2021. New Jersey Offshore Powerboat Racing Association (NJOPRA) is happy to welcome Jersey Mike’s back as our title sponsor. This year’s race is supported in part by a grant from NJ Department of State, Division of Travel and Tourism. Offshore Powerboat Association (OPA), based in Brick, will again be the national sanctioning organization for this year’s race.

Mayor Paul Kanitra, Chief Michigan, the Point Beach Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary and the race committee of NJOPRA are planning this year’s extra events. With covid still an issue, it is a challenge to decide which events can happen and which will need to be changed or adjusted. All events during race weekend will follow all guidelines put in place by Gov. Murphy and the CDC regarding the Corona virus.

“After a very difficult year, Point Pleasant Beach is thrilled to welcome back the Offshore Grand Prix. We’re counting on the weekend to provide a great boost to our local businesses and an always exciting event for our residents and guests. The Jersey Shore is back!”
said Mayor Kanitra.

Sunday, June 13, 2021 is “Race Day”. Spectators can watch the race from the Beach in Point Pleasant Beach as well as from the Boardwalk, following the guidelines for social distancing.

NJOPRA is an all-volunteer, not for profit group. NJOPRA has been the organizers of the race in Point Pleasant Beach since powerboat racing started here in 1969. We are always looking for land and water volunteers. If you would like to be part of this exciting event please register on our website.
